Kenmare

This should be a quick blog. We left Dingle yesterday and spent the night in Kenmare. What a difference. This town is really nice, little but nice. We came through Killarney to get here. Killarney is about the size of McMinnville. You might remember the name Killarney from that christmas song, "Christmas in Killarney. . .with all of the folks at home" I was expecting something larger. Anyway. . .Kenmare is about the size of. . . .Canby. . .if that. Not as many people but the same amount of store frontage. . . squeezed into two streets.
Our B&B was more expensive but much better than Dingle. Not to say Dingle was bad. . .just different. We have Waterpressure here and a shower that actually drains as you shower.
During our day we stopped and talked to many people. The Australians are the most dominant tourist right now. But we found a few Germans (from Liptzieg. . .I know I spelled that wrong).
There was a nice mommy with two kids (boy Liam 5 years old and Enya 8 years old) in a pub eating lunch. The boy was perfect red head and really made us miss Kentucky & Korban.
Then there was the guy. . . .in the pub at night. . .where a couple of the pics above are taken. The guy is a landscaper so we talked alot about the agriculture around here. THEN we got on Politics. We actually enjoyed talking to him but it was interesting how the irish view our presidential race and the War in Iraq. It makes us remember that we as americans need to think Globally. What we do really does effect many MANY countries. . .even ones we would not even consider connected to us.
Today we make a long haul to Cashel. It will be about a 3 hour to 4 hour drive. Hopefully they have a laundramat there. . .we need to do wash. Another adventure.
The Pint I am drinking is for the P&G folks. . .Today I shopped in the SUPERVALU market. Pampers/Pringles are very prominent on the shelf. No Tide, but plenty of Ariel/Fairy & Bold. Febreeze too! Shampoo is totally Johnson & Johnson. . .sorry.
I wonder if the Supervalu here is connected to ours in the states. . . .something to research later.

The pic of me at the lake is at a national park (the first one in Ireland) that was originally owned by an american who bequeathed it to his daughter who then gave it to Ireland. Glad to see us Americans can give back.
The pic of the trees on the rock shows you what they consider trees here. never saw them in Dingle but now that we are going inland we are seeing more.
