Roll Out the Barrels

Oh my, am actually writing again. Yesterday we went to Bad Dürkheim and if you search this weblink you will see a giant barrel which is a kitchy resturaunt. We ate there and has some really good food. We also bought a case of wine to drink as we travel. hmmmmm that did't sound right. Then Mary saw a fleamarket. . .STOP THE CAR. . .hey, a german fleamarket sounds interesting doesn't it, ladies? well let me just say that Jerry had the last laugh on this one. it was a field full of gypsies selling junk. BUT it did have an interesting struction as part of the field. Here are some of the pics. The closest we could translate this is a Giant Swamp cooler. Jerry says it fretshens the air by running water through all the sticks. it is Very big, about the size of a football field, that would be american football.

Last night we ate dinner with our friend Bab who is going to college to be a translator and an actress. Her parents are both from Poland and immigrated to Germany in 1989. It was an interesting dinner with a lot of translation since her parents do not speak english and german is thier 2nd language. But we found them to be funny and very animated. They cook good food too! poor Jerry ended up drinking too many beers not wanting to be ungrateful. Here we are with Bab and her parents.. . . which by the way, we never learned their first names.

Today we are headed out to Strasbourg France, hope to visit some wineries on the Rhine river and sample my favorite Rieslings & Geverztraminer wines.
And if I don't get back to a computer till later this week please be patient. On Monday we go to the amusement park and then start driving to Switzerland.
